Timothy J. Cleary, of Quincy passed away in his home on Monday, March 18th, 2019.
Tim was the son of the late Lawrence J. and the late Catherine T. (Curran) Cleary, born in Boston in 1956. He attended local schools and graduated in the Class of 1974 from North Quincy High School. He continued to cheer for the Red Raiders years after leaving school.
After graduating, Tim enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge, Tim went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Tim enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams including the Red Sox, New England Patriots, and especially the Boston Bruins. He also enjoyed cooking, keeping up with current events, woodworking, tinkering around the house and of course spending time with his family. As his parents started to get older Tim dedicated himself to taking care of them until they each passed away. Tim loved his family and was always loving towards his nieces and nephews.
Tim was a selfless and kind-hearted person who cared the well being of others. Tim will be missed by all who knew him.
Tim was the loving brother of the late Lawrence J. Cleary and his surviving wife Laura of Abington, Michael F. Cleary and his wife Sarah of Seattle, Washington, Kathleen T. Andrew and her late husband Paul of Derry, NH, Anne M. Knox and her husband James of Pembroke, Eileen P. McKenzie and her husband John of Augusta, ME and Thomas A. Cleary of Weymouth. He is also survived by four nieces and five nephews, as well as four great nieces and five great nephews who he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, March 24th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home located 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170. The funeral service will be celebrated immediately following visiting hours.
Interment will be held privately.
