Whippen, Thomas J., Sr. of Hanover, formerly of Weymouth and Quincy, January 12, 2007. Beloved husband of Jeanie M. (Carroll) Whippen of Hanover, Loving father of Thomas J. Whippen, Jr. and his wife Miriam of Kingston, Jane A. Lilley and her husband Michael of Wrentham, Suzanne Decesar of Plymouth, and Richard G. Whippen of Norwell. Brother of George Whippen and his wife Jean of Billerica, Kathy Luisi and her husband Frank of Pembroke, Anne Argentine of New York, Robert Whippen of Brockton, and the late Patricia Hendrick. Step-father of Joanne Robertson of Quincy. Also lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and close friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. U.S. Airforce Veteran. Mr. Whippen was born and grew up in Quincy. He was a 1957 graduate of North Quincy High School. Before retiring from Metro Investigators in 2006, Tom was a building contractor and owner of Whippen Enterprises, which built homes on the South Shore. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, Tom took great pride in being the owner/operater of Mass Marine and Generator Co. which sold and repaired boat engines and generators. Tom was an avid boater and a very mechanical person. He loved to travel, especially to Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
