Thomas Fowler Velozo, 73, of Weymouth, husband of Karen M. Velozo, passed away peacefully Friday October 4, 2024 surrounded by his family, after an illness.
Born in Somerset, son of the late Manuel Vierra Velozo and Kathleen (Fowler) Velozo, he resided most of his life in Braintree. Tom worked at Colonial Provisions for many years, also in the security field, as well as maintenance for various school districts including Stonehill College. Tom was an avid sports fan, enjoying bowling, playing cribbage, watching the Red Sox, and gaming at the casinos. Tom was a big foodie, and loved exploring new restaurants, meeting people, and sharing jokes and stories. In his early retirement years, Tom spent much of his time looking after his beloved granddaughter. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Karen M. Velozo, a daughter, Kristi Belle Lupien (Jamie Lupien), and granddaughter Madison Kathleen Lupien. He was the brother of Janet, Linda, and Tamrah. He also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a group of special friends and neighbors who cared for him deeply. A celebration of life will be planned.
