Thomas R. Semler

Thomas R. Semler of Marshfield, died July 29, 2013 at the age of 75. Tom grew up in Roxbury and has lived in Marshfield for over 35 years. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He went on to work as a postmaster in Weymouth for 30 years. He also enjoyed bowling and playing the lottery but the foundation of Tom’s happiness was spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed. 

Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Jennie K. F. (Lew) Semler. Devoted father of Gary C.Y. Chung and his late wife Kelly Secord of West Roxbury, Nancy Y.M. Chung-Welch and her husband James of Quincy, Susan Y.T. Chung-Campos and her husband Stephen of Marshfield and Brian R. Semler and his wife Susanne of Marshfield. Cherished grandfather of Sara and Dylan Chung, Kylie, Jason and Amanda Semler. Loving brother of Kay Petipas of Roslindale, Virginia Cribbie of NM and the late Martin and James Semler. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Tom’s childhood dog “Mr. Poko” was also a cherished member of his family. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 AM. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Thomas may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
