Broderick, Thomas P. “Scoop” of Quincy, died July 15, 2015.
Scoop graduated from Roslindale High School and was a standout athlete. He was awarded Boston Post All-Scholastic in football. He proudly served his country in the Army as a TEC 4 during WWII. He married his beloved wife Bernice during a 5 day pass before spending 27 months in the Pacific. Scoop worked for 40 years in construction, including 30 of those years at Stanley Newman Company. He was a member of the Local 3 bricklayers union and worked very hard to support his family. They were his world, especially being a “Buppa” to his grand and great grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, with family and friends and taking daily walks around Wollaston. Scoop was a generous man who loved to watch the Red Sox lose. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of the late Bernice R. “Sis” Broderick. Loving father of James Broderick and Donna Carter, both of Quincy. Predeceased by 6 siblings. Cherished Buppa of Thomas, Richard, David & James and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
