Thomas P. Barrett

Thomas P. Barrett, 89 years old, a resident of Weymouth, MA, passed away on June 10, 2023.

He was  predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Carol A. Barrett, and the loving father of Lorraine Collins, Patricia Healey (Ken), Carolyn Cotter (Todd), Janice Neenan, and Thomas W. Barrett (Tracey). He was the brother of Virginia Dooney and was predeceased by his brothers Jackie Barrett, Joe Barrett, and Paul Barrett. Thomas was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, Ashley, Kelly, Daniel, Kaitlin, Matthew, Christopher, Ryan, and Liam. Thomas is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren, enjoying many Cape vacations and supporting them at their numerous sporting events. He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially for his love of baseball and the Red Sox. Thomas was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked for the Boston Edison Company for over forty years as a Lead Lineman.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday June 20th, from 9 – 10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church  Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Thomas’s memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
