Thomas L. Monahan, Jr.

Thomas L. Monahan, Jr. of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, died June 30, 2013 at the age of 75.

Beloved husband of Betty Ann (Dean) Monahan. Loving father of Thomas L. Monahan, III and his wife Sharon Marcil of Chevy Chase, MD. Cherished “Grampy” of Caroline and Elizabeth. Brother of Janet Tobin of Milton and her late husband Robert, Jane Milano and her husband Vincent of Milton, and the late Nancy Looney and her husband William of Weymouth. Brother in law of Norma Dean of Salisbury and Eugene Dean, Jr. and his wife Mary of Newburyport. He was also the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Tom was a graduate of Boston College and received his master’s degree from Suffolk University. He worked for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for many years, retiring as Assistant Commissioner and started his own consulting firm. He was a member of Council 5027 of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer for the Weymouth Food Pantry.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph. Donations in Tom’s memory of may be made to the Weymouth Food Pantry, PO Box 890009, Weymouth, MA 02189.
