Halpin, Thomas L. of Hingham, passed away November 26, 2010. Husband of the late Eleanor (Foley) Halpin. Loving father of Kathleen Bielagus of Walpole, Sr. Deborah Thomas, FSP of Jamaica Plain, Thomas G. Halpin, and Geraldine Halpin, both of Hingham. Devoted grandfather of Michael and Stephanie Bielagus, Jessie Halpin, and Thomas Reilly. Brother of Shirley Flaherty of Rockland and the late William Halpin. Dearest friend of Rosemary Sullivan of Hingham. Tom grew up in Roxbury and entered the Navy during WWII, serving in Guam, Okinawa, and Wake Island with the Seabees. For 30 years he worked for Hingham Light as a general foreman and was the founder of Halpin Line Construction. Through the years he taught CCD, was a youth sports coach, a member of the K of C, president of the Archbishop Williams Men’s Club, and volunteered at Glastonbury Abbey. He was also a dear friend and benefactor to the Daughters of St. Paul, his daughter’s community. Most of all, Tom devoted his life to his family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday 4- 8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Tom may be made to the Daughters of St. Paul, 50 St. Paul’s Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
