Thomas J. “Tom” Belton, of Weymouth, passed away October 11, 2014.
Tom grew up in Dorchester and has lived in Weymouth for over 20 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Tom worked as a printer for the Archdiocese of Boston for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially for Boston College. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family.
Beloved husband of Helen M. (Sommerville) Belton of Weymouth. Devoted father of Thomas J. Belton, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Quincy, Susan M. McCusker and her husband Doug of Weymouth, William G. Belton and his wife Christine of Brockton, Margaret A. Griffin of Weymouth, Richard M. Belton and his wife Patricia of Waltham, Mark S. Belton and his wife Linda of Braintree, Michael F. Belton and his wife Susan of Abington and Kathleen P. Belton of Weymouth. Son of the late Thomas P. and Helen M. (Cleary) Belton. Loving brother of Phyllis Connolly of Milton and the late Helen Murphy. Cherished “Papa” to 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)
Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM.
Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Tom may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.
