O’Brien, Thomas J. “Tommy” of Quincy, a retired Boston Police Officer, passed away September 3, 2017 after a brief illness at home surrounded by his loving family.
Tommy grew up in Roxbury and graduated from the Boston English High School. He was a stand up guy, a good friend, and a hard worker. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Son of the late John and Madeline O’Brien. Beloved husband of Janet Brown (Seaman) and step-dad to James Brown and his wife Lori of N. Andover and Joni Collins and her husband Peter of Florida. Loving brother of Elizabeth O’Brien of W. Roxbury. Tommy loved being “Papa” to his 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many extended relatives, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 10:30-12 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY followed by a funeral home service at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tommy may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, W. Bridgewater, MA 02379-1022 or to the Carmelite Monastery, 61 Mt. Pleasant Ave. Roxbury, MA 02119-3399.
