Bailey, Thomas J. of Quincy, formerly of South Boston and Dorchester, died August 31, 2018.
Beloved husband of Diane (King) Bailey of Quincy. Devoted father of Mary Bailey of Quincy, Thomas Bailey and his wife Maureen of Quincy and Timothy Bailey of Quincy. Loving brother of Roseanne Casper, Mary Woods, Josephine Ritchie, Theresa Bailey; all of South Boston, and the late Jack Bailey, Barbara Bailey Gill, and James Bailey. Cherished “Dado” to Megan, Brendan, Madilyn, Olivia, and Liam. Also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Thomas worked for 35 years at Boston Edison as a meter reader. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Thomas was a member of Sons of Erin, Hyannis Yacht Club, Old Colony Yacht Club, McKeon Post, and the Kennedy Senior Center. He enjoyed racquetball, classic movies, reading, history, walking, and the Cape Cod ocean, but Thomas’ true passion in life was his family. He was a very kind, caring, unselfish and charismatic man who loved to laugh. He will sadly be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Thomas may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
