Moar, Thomas H. Sr. of North Quincy, known to family and friends as Hughie, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 04, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. Devoted husband of the late Joan M. (McSherry). Beloved father of Thomas H. Moar Jr. of North Quincy, Stephen F. Moar and his wife Dorothy of Hanover, Diane M. Moar of Randolph and Kathleen P. Moar of Marshfield. Hughie is also survived by his seven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Mary Lou Moar of North Quincy and James M. Moar and his wife Carol of Stoneham. A Korean War Veteran and a retired Inspector on the MBTA’s Blue Line. He was also a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Hughie was a devoted friend of Bill W’s and a member of The Snug Harbor Group in Quincy for the past 31 years. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he also greatly enjoyed playing cards at Castle island in South Boston. He cherished the support and friendship of many. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
