Thomas F. “Sid” Sorrentino

Sorrentino, Thomas F. “Sid” of Braintree, formerly of Weymouth and Hingham, March 19, 2009. Former husband of the late Barbara Stevens. Devoted father of the late Dina Sorrentino. Loving step-father of Emery Swanson of New Hampshire. Loving brother of Fred “BM” Sorrentino of Hingham, Samuel Sorrentino of Hanover and the late Anthony and Angelina Sorrentino. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sid was born and raised in Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School. He lived in Weymouth for over 20 years before moving into a nursing home recently. He worked as a security guard for South Shore Security, retiring in 2002. Prior to that he worked as a waiter for many years at Leonard’s in Brockton. Mr. Sorrentino was the president of Hingham High School’s Alumni Association and was an advocate for the high school’s Hall of Fame. He was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying basketball and bowling. He even wrote articles for the sports section of the Patriot Ledger. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Wednesday at 10 AM. A funeral home service will follow at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Sid may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210-1216.
