Thomas F. Riley

Riley, Thomas F. of Quincy formerly of Boston & Charlestown, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 surrounded by his family. The beloved husband of 40 years to Anita L. (Rogers) Riley. Devoted father of Heidi L. Riley of Woonsocket, RI and the late Jonathan M. Riley. Father in law of Katherine (Sandell) Riley of Dorchester. Brother of John Riley of West Roxbury, Robert Riley of Falmouth and Joseph Riley of Marshfield. Son of the late Louise (Hafey) Riley. Thomas grew up in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School Class of 1958. He served in the Army National Guard and then graduated from Vesper George School of Art in 1974. Tom worked as a commercial artist for various companies most recently Barrow Industries in Canton, where he retired back in 1997. Proud of his Irish heritage, Tom was a member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians as well as the Irish Cultural Society in Canton. He loved the ocean, art and following Notre Dame Football. He enjoyed history especially the Civil War. A devoted husband, father and brother, Tom will be sadly missed by his family and his beloved dog Max. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St. North Quincy, Thursday at 10 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Thomas may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
