Thomas F. Donahue, Sr.

Donahue, Thomas F. Sr., of Abington, died September 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas, affectionately know by friends and family as “Papa,” grew up in Jamaica Plain and lived in Randolph for many years before moving to Abington. He worked as a truck driver for over 30 years, the last 15 years with the Teamsters Union, retiring in 1992. Papa was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed gambling and trips to Vegas and Twin River Casino with family. He will be remembered as a kind and outgoing man who was devoted to his family.

Beloved husband of 44 years to the late Doris (Vatalaro) Donahue. Devoted father of Doreen M. Lowry and her husband Joe of Quincy and Thomas F. Donahue, Jr. of Uxbridge. Loving brother of the late Cecilia McKenna, Frank and Edward Donahue and Joan Dalia. Cherished “Papa” of Caitlin Mary, Caity, Tom, Connor, Dylan and Breanna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
