Thomas F. Clasby, Sr.

Clasby, Thomas F., Sr. of Quincy, died December 12, 2014.

Beloved husband of the late Jane E. (Coughlin) Clasby.  Loving father of Maureen A. Pelton and her husband Thomas of Quincy, and Thomas F. Clasby Jr.  and his wife Theresa of Fitchburg.  Brother of Joseph Clasby of Acton and the late Charles Clasby.  Cherished grandfather of Michael, Kristine, and Erin Pelton, the late John T. Pelton, and Kent Clasby.  Tom is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.  

Thomas was born in Boston and raised and educated in Waltham.  He worked for Boston Gas Company for 42 years and served as an officer in their union for many years before retiring in 1992.   Tom was former President of the Holy Name Society and an usher at Star of the Sea Church in Squantum for many years.   He was a Devoted Catholic and dedicated family man who loved to entertain his family, especially on the fourth of July.  He enjoyed dancing, sports, and had a  special hobby of making and repairing rosary beads for family and friends.   Tom was a proud Army Veteran who served his country in Germany and was a participant in the Berlin Air lift.  The most important aspect of Tom’s life was his family, he cherished and loved them with all of his heart.  He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
