Thomas E. Clegg, Sr.

Clegg, Thomas E., Sr. of Weymouth, died March 27, 2014.

Beloved husband of 58 years of Isabel M. (Cataldo) Clegg of Weymouth. Loving father of Thomas Jr. of Rockland, Michael (Felicia) of Melbourne, Florida, Christopher  (Laura) of Billerica, Francis (Angela) of Pembroke, Gerardene of Hanson and Mark (Carol) of Midlothian, TX.  He is survived by his twin brother John G. Clegg of Ohio and Stephen of Dorchester; he was predeceased by his sisters Ellenor Kim, and Mary Jane Powers. Beloved grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Tom proudly served his country for 33 years and retired as a Lt. Colonel in the Army National Guard.  He was a retired Principal in the City of Boston and served as the past President of the Boston School Administrator’s Union.  He was a Fullbright Scholar who taught in New Zealand from 1959-1960.  Tom was a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts and the Kiwanis Club of Weymouth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial will be private.  

The family extends a special thanks to the caring staff at Bridges by EPOCH, Hingham.
