Thomas C. Sonia, Jr.

Thomas C. Sonia, Jr. of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 with his loving family by his side.

Tom was fiercely devoted to his family and always looked forward to Sundays spent together. He enjoyed annual trips to New Hampshire, often planning their return as soon as the trip ended. Always the life of the party, Tom had a great sense of humor and legendary one-liners. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him. 

Beloved husband of Peggy Sonia of Weymouth. Devoted father of Nicole Munoz and her husband Jose of Weymouth, Christine White of Weymouth, Jacqui Conley and her husband Mike of Weymouth and Thomas C. Sonia, III of Whitman. Loving brother of Jackie Rooney of Marshfield. Cherished “Papa/Tubbs” of Michael (USMC), Ryan, Quinn and Jameson. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. If you are unable to gather together with Tom’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by clicking the link above and sharing a special memory or message.
