Theresa J. Powers

Powers, Theresa J. (McDonough) of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, passed away January 28, 2017. 

Theresa was born in Dorchester and later in life moved to Quincy. Family was the cornerstone of her life. She loved to sing Irish music, enjoyed plays and musicals, and was an amazing cook for her four loving sons. Theresa also enjoyed to needlepoint. She was an very independent woman, who was kind and caring. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Loving wife of 66 years to Robert E. Powers of Quincy. Dear mother to Steven R. Powers and his wife Elaine of Quincy, Brian J. Powers and his wife Gail of Braintree, Robert M. Powers and his wife Pamela of Lexington, Michael A. Powers and his wife Barbara of Duxbury. Cherished sister to the late Helen Towle, Michael McDonough, Mary Pesieri, Winifred Grey, Patrick McDonough, John McDonough, Rita Hannigan, Francis McDonough, Margaret Jansky, and Joseph McDonough. Beloved grandma Brian and Mikala Powers, Emily and Scott Cooley, the late Shannon Nissa Bailey Powers, Stephanie-kaye Powers, Aidan and Christina Powers, Alexandra and Marc Cellucci, Liam Powers, Marissa Powers, Erin Powers and Kelsey Powers. Also survived by nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
