Theresa A. Cavanaugh Schneider (Curran) 79, of Scituate formerly of Quincy, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Timothy Patrick and Mary (Mannion) Curran. She was predeceased by her brother, Timothy and her sister Margaret.
Theresa was the beloved wife of the late John Cavanaugh and the late Eugene Schneider.
She loved baking, painting, gardening at her home near the ocean, and most especially ballroom dancing with her dearest friend Tony Sulfaro of Braintree.
Mother of John Cavanaugh and his partner Susan of Plainville, Steven Cavanaugh and his wife Mary of Norfolk, Paul Cavanaugh and his wife Suzette of Plymouth, Lisa Kelly and her husband Michael of Ashford, CT, Deborah O’Brien and her husband Frank of Quincy, Timothy Cavanaugh of Boston, and Maryellen Burke and her husband Brian of Scituate. Theresa is survived by her 15 grandchildren. Sister of Mary McLellan of Randolph, Jack Curran and his wife Paulina of Melrose, Maury Curran and his wife Mary of Marshfield, Helena Griffin of Randolph. Sister-in-law of Kay Curran of Dedham. Theresa is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Wollaston.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:45am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30am. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Theresa may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
