Theresa A. Corcoran

Theresa A. Corcoran of Hingham passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the age of 103.

She was born in Boston to the late John P. and Mary H. (Walsh) Dowd, and was raised in Dorchester.  She married Gerard J. Corcoran in 1940.  In 1949 they made their home in Crow Point.

Family was everything to Theresa.  She was the central hub of communication and proud matriarch caring for her family who lovingly knick named her “The Grand Dame”.  She enjoyed traveling throughout New England and cooking.  Her chocolate chip cookie recipe was infamous.  Her incredible wit and wonderful sense of humor made for some excellent stories.  She was generous, hard-working, and loved by all who knew her.  She will be dearly missed.

Theresa was pre-deceased by her loving husband Gerard J. Corcoran, their son Dr. Gerard J. “Gary” Corcoran, Jr., and her beloved sisters Mary McNeil and Eleanor McGregor.  She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law Carol & Charles Murray of Hingham, her daughter-in-law Kenda Corcoran of New Hampton NH, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  Burial will be private.
