Theodore F. Kressler, Jr.

Theodore F. Kressler, Jr. 86, Ret. Deputy Chief QFD, died  peacefully on November 4, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

Devoted husband of  64 years to Dorothy (Cormack) Kressler.  Loving father of Janet  M. Whitman and her late husband Dana A.of Raynham, Scott Kressler of Raynham and the late Steven Kressler. Brother of Richard Kressler of West Springfield and the late William Kressler. Cherished grandfather of Heather ( Whitman) Nix and her husband David, Mark Whitman, WFD and his wife Jennie, Brittany, Katelyn, Lauren and Nicole. Great grandfather of Roberta. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.

Ted was a longtime resident of Quincy. He served in the United States Navy during W.W.II and re-listed in the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean War. After his military service Ted took a position on the Quincy Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Acting Deputy Fire Chief and retired after 32 years of service in 1987. He was an avid Boston sports fan.  An avid driver, he enjoyed traveling and always found great delight in being in the company of family and friends.  Ted will be remembered as a considerate and kind man, who was loyal to both his family and his country. He had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. His family was the cornerstone of all that was truly important to him. Ted will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday  3-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.

Donations in memory of Theodore may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
