Theodore A. Critikos

Our beloved Theodore A. Critikos, of South Weymouth, died peacefully at home on February 23, 2022, at the age of 88.

He was the son of the late Paul and Argyro (Carzis) Critikos.  Ted was proud of his Greek heritage and attended the Cadmus Greek school in Dorchester where he grew up. He attended Boston English High School and later went to Northeastern University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Boston University. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.  Ted was a hard-working family man that retired from the United States Postal Service. He especially loved delivering mail in the cold and joking with people on his routes. Ted was active in his church, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where he was a member of the choir for many years.  After retirement he volunteered weekly in the choral group at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton. Ted was a member of The Order of AHEPA, Athens Chapter 24. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 117 in Weymouth while his son was a Boy Scout.

He was the devoted husband of Mary (Andreadis) Critikos for 51 years. A loving and caring father of Gayle Saxonis-Phillips and her husband Philip of Braintree; and Paul Theodore Critikos and his wife Jacqueline of Marstons Mills. Proud grandfather or “Papou” of Thomas Saxonis, Theodore Phillips, Mia Critikos, Elena Critikos, and Theodore Paul Critikos. Brother of Christina Vallas of Bedford, the late Maria Theophilos, and the late Athena Critikos. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
