Thelma Edith (Rumble) Pickett, daughter of Charles A, accountant at the Boston Globe and Edith A. Rumble, died peacefully at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston on Friday May 16, 2014.
Beloved wife of Thomas F. Pickett of Weymouth, to whom she was married 59 years, she was a retired receptionist of Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth and a devoted mother to three children: Scott, Christopher, and Matthew and one grandson, Nicholas. Thelma is the sister of the late Russell Rumble, Rodney Rumble and Patricia McDaniel and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thelma was born in Weymouth, MA in 1928 and attended Weymouth schools and worked in the Jewelers Exchange in Boston until she met and married her husband Thomas in 1955. Life was primarily devoted to bringing up three children and enjoying vacations at Point Sebago, ME, Tuscany and Paris, Many a long, relaxing time was also spent on the St. Lawrence Seaway in New York and on the banks of the Cape Cod Canal with her husband. Thelma is loved and missed by us all.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street) and also on Wednesday morning at 11 AM for the procession to Massachusetts National Cemetery for Graveside Services at 1:15 PM.
