Terry Tsao Kelley, formerly of Ormond Beach, FL, 59, passed away on August 28, 2017, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Terry was born in Quincy, MA to Carson Tsao and Marion “Betty” (Eng) Tsao. Growing up, Terry loved ballet and excelled at needlework. She attended Braintree High School and graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with degrees in Math and Economics. At Boston College, she met her husband, Michael Kelley. She was accepted to pursue an advanced degree in statistics at Johns Hopkins University, but declined and chose to work in Boston for Southmayd Insurance Agency. Terry and Michael were wed in 1982 at Bethany Congregational Church in Quincy. They moved to Louisville, where she worked for The Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. They moved to Baltimore, where Terry focused on taking care of the family.
They moved to Florida, where Terry was very active in helping with her children’s activities. She frequently volunteered at school events, as well as extracurricular activities, such as shuttling Chris to tennis or Rose to piano. Eager to put her talents to use, Terry worked as a tailor for Designs by Jenny. Terry enjoyed crosswords, math puzzles, and crocheting.
Terry is survived by her husband Dr. Michael Kelley of Ormond Beach, FL, her son Christopher of Austin, TX, and her daughter, Rosemary of Chicago, IL, and her brother Brian Tsao of Nashua, NH.
Relatives and friends are asked to join for a wake at Keohane Funeral Home in Quincy, MA, on Monday, September 4, from 2-5pm. The graveside service will be on Tuesday, September 5, at 11am. Procession will begin at Keohane Funeral Home at 10:15am and go to Blue Hill Cemetery.
