Terry Swanson

Mary "Terry" Swanson, a beacon of light and love to all who knew her, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with breast cancer on June 14, 2024. She was 63.

Born to a close-knit family, Terry was known for her loving and kind spirit, which only grew stronger as she navigated through life's challenges and triumphs. She met the love of her life, Rick, at a local bar over four decades ago in 1982, and their bond was instantaneous. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, companionship, and mutual devotion, although they faced the heartache of losing their child, Baby Carl, at birth. Despite this profound loss, Terry's resilience and love only intensified, and she became the cornerstone of her family, making it stronger and more connected.

Terry's zest for life was evident in her passion for tropical vacations, especially those that allowed her to lounge by the pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea—though she was not one for the sand. She and Rick became an inseparable tag team, whether they were cooking up a storm in the kitchen or hosting lively parties at their home accompanied with a Jimmy Buffett soundtrack. Terry loved to entertain, and her home was always filled with the sounds of joy and celebration.

Professionally, Terry was as dedicated as she was in her personal life. She took immense pride in her work, approaching every task with diligence and care. Yet, she always managed to maintain a perfect balance, ensuring she was surrounded by family and friends, with whom she loved to go out to dinner, even if she often played with her food more than she ate it.

An ardent Bruins fan, Terry's enthusiasm for her team was contagious. At home, her tenderness was reserved for her beloved cats, Ziggy and Marley, who were her constant companions and a source of endless affection.

Terry's legacy is one of unconditional love and selflessness. Her beautiful smile and the warmth she brought into the world will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye to Terry, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and the enduring human spirit. Terry Swanson will be dearly missed, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched.
