Pope, Sylvia V. (Alemian) of Weymouth, died September 16, 2018.
Sylvia worked as a bookkeeper for Zildjian for many years. She was musically talented as both a piano player and singer with Armenian choral groups and St. Stephen’s Church. She sang with her choral group at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City. She enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles and was a Jeopardy game show fanatic.
She was a quiet, caring person who worked hard to support her family, putting others needs above her own. She enjoyed trips to visit family in Vermont as well as the occasional family “mystery ride” which often ended with a drive through the Nantasket area.
Devoted mother of Robert Pope and his wife Karen of VT and Gregory Pope and his wife Lorraine of Weymouth. Cherished Grammy of Megan, Meredith, Melissa, Michael and great-grandchildren Collin, Nahla, Izaiah and Emma. Beloved daughter of Starrie Alemian of Weymouth and the late Sarkis Alemian. Loving sister of Alan Alemian of MD, Susan Bentley of PA, Stephan Alemian of Weymouth, Claire Alemian of Weymouth, the late Edward Alemian and the late Commander Haig Alemian, USN. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Saturday, October 20th at 10:30 AM at the South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth was private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Shore Baptist Church.
