Susan M. Kelly

Susan M (Bouffard) Kelly of Quincy died peacefully after a year long battle with cancer on May 13, 2020, at 60.

Beloved wife of Frank Kelly. Cherished daughter of Arthur and Sandra Bouffard of Marshfield. Loving mother of Caitlin Silveira and her husband Manny of Iowa, Amanda Kelly of Quincy, Eric Kelly and his wife Rebecca of Weymouth, and Nicholas Kelly of Quincy. Devoted sister of Kathy Buckley of Hanson, Kimberly Duncan and husband Gene of Abington, Jeffery Bouffard and wife Nina of Hopkinton, and Jason Bouffard and wife Suzanne of Hanson.  Loving grandmother of Theodore and Liam Kelly of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in South Boston and raised in Quincy, Susan enjoyed a life spent as an administrator in multiple industries, and was a dedicated and hardworking woman. Her true passion was the raising and development of her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and she was a natural and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Susan and her husband Frank’s relationship was characterized by mutual respect, love, and devotion, and was a beautiful example of trust and cooperation even in the most difficult of times. Susan and Frank enjoyed running and training together, and the two completed multiple half marathons together in different cities across the United States. They also enjoyed watching Red Sox games at Fenway and going to concerts in their free time. Susan was an avid reader and had books stashed in every possible corner of her home. Susan was never happier than when she was sitting on the deck in the sun, sipping coffee or a glass of wine, listening to the sound of her family talking and laughing together.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and ability to make others feel welcome in her life and in her home. Susan handled hardships and adversity with her signature blend of strength, bravery, grit, and sharp sense of humor, which she maintained throughout her entire life.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Susan may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA
