Stephen S. Starsiak

Starsiak, Stephen Of Easton formerly of Hingham, died on Nov. 1, 2009 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle. The devoted husband of Susan A. (Venskus) Starsiak . Loving father of Jessica Schauber and her husband Charles of Norwell, Stephen Starsiak and his wife Melissa of Hingham, Margaret Starsiak of Hingham and Jennifer Mainey and her husband James of Quincy. Devoted Grandfather of Anna & Sophia Schauber and Daniel J. Mainey, Stephen was expecting another granddaughter in February. Cherished brother of Janice Erler and her husband Paul of Quincy and Suzanne Flynn and her husband Bryan of Hanover. Son of the late Stanley & Anna (Barauskas) Starsiak. Best Friend of 57 years to George Alcott, III. Loving Uncle of Katie & Chris Erler of Quincy and Christopher, Casey, Cally and Matthew Flynn all of Hanover, Ryan & Richard Nee and many other nieces and nephews. Stephen grew up in Squantum. He graduated from North Quincy High School class of 1970. He never missed a Thanksgiving Day Football Game. Stephen cherished his friendships with many of his friends and stayed close to them for more than 50 years. He moved to Hingham and raised his family. His children will remember him as a Dad who was always full of life and fun. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sporting events and taking the team out for ice creme. He loved to travel to places with tropical weather and enjoyed the trips he took with his wife Suzi to Twin Rivers. Stephen loved his garden and found it to be a place of peace and tranquility. You could always find him out in the garden listening to the METS on his transistor radio. He adored his grandchildren and even when he was ill, they could bring a smile to his face. Stephen worked for the telephone company for 38 years, he had not yet retired. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St. Quincy, Tuesday at 12 Noon. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to South Shore Hospital Cancer Care Program, South Shore Hospital Foundation, 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA 02190.
