Beal, Stephen M. of Quincy, formerly of Hingham, January 11, 2009. Beloved husband of Deborah L. (Little) Beal. Loving son of Helen and Robert Beal of Hingham. Father of Marisa Beal Podolski of Dedham. Brother of Robert F. Beal, Jr. & wife Brenda Gerosa-Beal of Hingham, William J. Beal & wife Brenda Anderson Beal of Orrington, ME, and Diane Beal Covington & husband R. Hurt Covington of Chapel Hill, NC. Steve is also survived by several nieces & nephews and his dogs Chloe and Milo. Steve was born and raised in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School and Wentworth College with a degree in construction management. He was active in Hingham sailing, and was manager of the HHS football and hockey teams. He was also instrumental in the inception of Hingham’s youth football program and coaching staff. Steve also served as a Trustee for many years on the board of his Quincy condominium association. Steve spent the early years of his career as a custom stone mason designing and building creative fireplaces and elaborate stonework. He later transitioned into the field of reprographics specializing in custom printing and architectural plan design reproduction. Most recently, Steve enjoyed spending volunteer hours at the South Shore Hospital, lending a hand and a smile to both patients and visitors. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the memorial visiting hours in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., (off Central St.) HINGHAM on Friday 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North St., Hingham Saturday at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be made to South Shore Hospital, Attn: Foundation, 55 Fogg Rd., Weymouth, MA 02190 or the Arthritis Foundation, MA Chapter, 29 Crafts St., Newton, MA 02158.
