Stephen J. Hurstak

Hurstak, Stephen J., “Steve”, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Plymouth and Braintree, died November 13, 2015, at 60, of heart failure. 

While a quiet man of simple tastes, he was the “Dad” in a dynamic family.  The family, and his career as an executive with Toyota Motor Sales, brought him the most joy.  He had an easy-going personality with a wonderful sense of humor.  His friends and colleagues knew him as hard working, loyal and kind.  He worked for 35 years in the automobile business as a problem solver, “the go to guy.”  Steve could fix just about anything and was always helping his family and friends.  He would never talk about it, but his friends relate he was an outstanding athlete and received many awards during his career.  Steve graduated from Braintree High School and the University of Massachusetts.  

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, his high school sweetheart, Linda (Shaw) Hurstak, their son, Kevin Hurstak and wife Emily Murphy Hurstak, of Hingham and, the South Shore’s most eligible bachelorette, Kristin Hurstak of Weymouth.  Brother of John Hurstak, Mary Hurstak Smallcomb, Joseph Hurstak, and Jane Hurstak Sword; all of Whitman.  Cherished grandfather of Rex and Hugh Hurstak of Hingham.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.  A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.
