Stephen F. Perry, age 74, of Clermont Florida, passed away on June 17, 2018, after a short illness.
Steve was the beloved, loving, and wonderful husband of Rita (McDonough) for 53 years.
Steve lived and spent his boyhood in Dorchester. Upon returning from the military, he and his wife Rita moved to Weymouth where they stayed for 36 years and then retired to Florida living there for the past 14 years. Steve worked for New England Life Insurance Company in Boston for close to 40 years. Once in Florida he worked for Disneyworld for 10 years.
Steve was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School formerly in Boston where he met classmate John Dooher, who is our current South Region Bishop Dooher. Steve then graduated from Boston College. Steve served in Viet Nam during the war as a Major in the Army.
Steve loved his music, old records, cars, planes, peanut M&M’s, and was a self-taught computer expert. He loved and enjoyed every minute with all family and friends. He was a joy to be with and had a generous heart among his many other great qualities.
Steven is survived by his dear sister Susan Pecoraro and her husband Paul of Whitman. He was the loving son of the late Francis and Pearl Perry.
Also survived by Rita’s three sisters, and two brothers and their spouses who all adored him over these many, many years – more a “brother” than an in-law. The finest of men. Also survived by ever so many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who were all blessed to call him uncle and friend. He also leaves behind two long-time faithful boyhood and best friends Leo and Jerry from his Dorchester days along with his many other wonderful friends.
Steve will be missed more than he could ever imagine. He has left a hole in our hearts and huge void in our lives. Thank God, we have so many wonderful photos and cherished memories. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace – you certainly earned it. Our love and admiration go with you for a life well lived.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main St., South Weymouth. Family and Friends are invited to gather at 9:30 AM prior to the funeral Mass. The Mass will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 632 Bridge St, Weymouth. Burial will follow at the North Weymouth Cemetery, 126 Norton St, Weymouth.
