Mr. Stephen E. Keenan, of Weymouth, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loving family on April 24, 2023. He was 53.
Beloved husband of Noreen M. (McBride) Keenan, loving father of Matthew and Megan Keenan, son of Richard and Virginia Keenan of Woburn and son-in-law of the late Neil and Ann Marie McBride.
Loving brother-in-law of Joanne McBride of Weymouth, Patti Jones of Melrose, Kathleen Corrigan and her husband, John, of Stoneham, and Donna Morris and her husband, Rob, of Weymouth. Cherished uncle to Kyle, Shannon, John, Brendan, Neil, Abby, and the late Mackenzie Rose Corrigan. Also survived by many dear friends, including Karen Robertson, Sean Doyle, Scott and Kelly MacDonald, Erick and Olga Caledonia and Rich and Melanie Cole, all of Weymouth.
Steve was born in Woburn and grew up in Arlington, attending St. Agnes Elementary School and continued onto Arlington High School where he participated in both the hockey and baseball teams. Steve graduated from Nichols College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management in 1993.
Steve married the love of his life, Noreen in 2002 at St. Joseph’s Church in Quincy and shared a beautiful life together raising a family and enjoying life in Weymouth.
Steve worked for Fidelity Investments as a Sr. Portfolio Services Analyst until 2016 and continued his employment at Brady’s Package Store in Weymouth. He was the best dad, attending Matthew and Megan’s activities, living life to the fullest, enjoying a Miller Lite with friends, and vacationing with Noreen and the kids at Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire and most recently in Sarasota Florida.
Steve enjoyed golfing, playing slow pitch softball, being the cornhole commissioner and the “grill master” at many family summer cookouts. Steve loved his time as a coach for Weymouth Little League and was a proud supporter of both Archbishop Williams High School and Weymouth High School sports programs. Steve will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet Steve’s family during visiting hours on Monday, May 1st from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opposite South Shore Hospital).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.
Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Steve Keenan Go Fund Me.
