Stephen E. Downey

Downey, Stephen E. of Weymouth, died September 25, 2017.

Steve was born and raised in Quincy, later becoming a resident of Weymouth. He attended North Quincy High School and Quincy Vocational. Steve enjoyed being outdoors; hiking, fishing, scuba diving and traveling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Cherished son of Louise (Cronin) Downey of Weymouth and the late Francis Downey. Dear brother of Michael Downey and his wife Jessica of Dighton. Loving father of Edward Downey and his fiancé of 11 years, Rianne Baker of Plymouth, Robert Downey of Quincy and Callie Downey of Fall River. Proud papa of Cheyenne, Brooke and Elijah. Beloved fiance of Barbara Halachis of Weymouth and soon to be stepfather of Anna Halachis, Devin Chavis, and Cassandra Chavis. Treasured Godson and nephew of Jack Downey and his wife Mary Alice of Norwell. And many other beloved family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
