Ericson, Stephen A. “captain of the Yankee Doodle” a former resident of Quincy but recently resided in Lantana, Florida, died October 30, 2017 after his long term battle with cancer.

Beloved father of Kenneth Rheaume of Holbrook, Julie Dozier of Taunton, Keith Ericson of Weymouth, Dennis Ericson of Weymouth, Richard Ericson of Kingston, Janelle Erickson of Holbrook and the late Mark and Timothy Ericson.  Cherished Grandpa of Kasey, Teddy, Nicole, Colleen, Ben, Nick, Danny and Lilly.  Caring brother of Don Ericson and his wife Harriet Danko of CA, Sue Rittenour and her husband Bruce of Duxbury, Carole Doherty and the late Frank Doherty and Donna Danehy.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Stephen graduated from Quincy High Tech School.  He was a Quincy Firefighter for 36 years before retiring.  Stephen was a proud United States Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam Era.  He was a man of many talents; a master electrician, a master scuba diver and an all around handy man. Stephen was a member of the Town River Yacht Club for over 40 years.  He enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming.  Stephen’s main passion in life was his family and spending time with those he loved.  He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stephen may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
