Bauzys, Stanley F. of Brockton September 13, 2004. Beloved husband of Marija (Daukantas) Bauzys. Loving father of Regina Bauzys-Battista of Hingham and the late Dr. Raymond Bauzys. Grandfather of Christina, Marc, Brad, and Suzanne. Father in law of Kevin Battista and Suzanne (DeSaulniers) Bauzys. He was pre-deceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Lithuania.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 PM. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham.Stanley was a self taught craftsman and carpenter in Lithuania. Along with building furniture, he was skilled in all aspects of home construction. He enjoyed music and was an accomplished dancer, partial to polkas and waltzes. During WWII, Mr. Bauzys was a volunteer with the 4060 Labor Service of the U.S. Army during the Berlin Airlift (“Operation Vittles”). He immigrated to the United States in 1949 aboard the USS General C.H. Muir, a Navy transport ship, which brought thousands of refugees to this country under the International Refugee Organization. His first job here was with the Asplund Company clearing trees for the Cape Cod power lines and for the Brockton VA Hospital lot. He later worked as a calender operator for Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton, retiring in 1980. Mr. Bauzys was a longtine parishioner of St. Casimir’s Parish in Brockton. Donations in memory of Mr. Bauzys may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
