Stacie L. Casey

Stacie L. Casey (Orlandella) of Norwood, MA (formerly of Braintree) passed away peacefully from cancer on Monday, May 27th, surrounded by her loving family. She was 52.

Born on November 15, 1971, in Okinawa, Japan, to Rose and Anthony (Tony) Orlandella, who proudly served in the United States Army. Stacie was raised in Braintree, MA alongside her three brothers. She graduated from Braintree High School in 1989 and then studied Business Management at Aquinas College in Newton, MA.

Stacie was preceded in death by her father, Tony, and is survived by her mother, Rose, of Norwood, MA. Stacie’s caregiving allowed Rose to remain at home for many years, a priceless gift from a selfless daughter to her mother. Stacie was the proud mother to her beloved son, Michael of Quincy, MA, and doting Mimi to grandson Benjamin of Quincy, MA, and Rochester, NH. Stacie shared an extraordinary bond with Ben, whom she adored. Stacie is also survived by brothers Keith Orlandella of Hingham, MA, and his wife Caitlin; Adam Orlandella and his wife Kristen of Scituate, MA; and Joshua Orlandella of Norwood. Stacie cherished her nieces Natalia Orlandella of Hingham, MA, Giada Orlandella of Scituate, MA, Siena Orlandella of Scituate, MA, and nephew Samuel Orlandella of Hingham, MA. Stacie often arrived at family gatherings with toys and treats for the children, ready to play a board game or work on a craft project. Auntie Stacie/Mimi was the definition of “cool,” adored for her energy and fun-loving spirit and cherished for her unwavering support, passionately celebrating sports victories, school accomplishments, or any good news with her trademark high-five and “niiiiiiiice!” No one was a more passionate cheerleader for her family and friends. Growing up in a large extended Italian family, Stacie is also survived by numerous cousins. She cherished holidays and weekly Sunday dinners filled with laughter, good-spirited mischief, and lots of pasta.

Stacie’s career was marked by 18 years of unwavering dedication as an Executive Assistant at State Street Bank. Her last six years were spent supporting Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, a role in which she took immense pride. Her colleagues at State Street remember her as an enthusiastic, passionate, and hardworking problem-solver, the go-to person for creative solutions to challenging issues.

Stacie was a loyal friend to many people, and these relationships helped sustain her throughout her illness. Her numerous life-long friendships, many of which she formed in grade school, speak to her selfless character. She always cared for others and served anyone who needed a favor, a sympathetic ear, a pep talk, or a hug. Notably, Stacie leaves her dear friend of 50 years, Krista Doyle of Weymouth, MA.

Stacie’s love of animals was evidence of her empathetic, caring nature. She was always willing to adopt stray kittens and care for outdoor cats. She was even known to name and feed the occasional flock of wild turkeys in the yard, wondering why they never seemed to leave! If an animal was in need, Stacie was eager to help. Anyone visiting her home knows how seriously she guarded the door, ensuring the cats were safe, yelling, “Watch the door! The CATS!” For a petite woman, Stacie’s voice sure was powerful.

Stacie’s zest for life was evident in her love for adventure. Whether camping in Maine or immersing herself in the lights and action of a casino, she was always up for fun. Her infectious spirit continues to warm the hearts of those fortunate enough to have been in her orbit. The world is undoubtedly a better place because of Stacie L. Casey, and it is now the responsibility of everyone who loved her to carry forth her unwavering commitment to helping others.
