Sona Hovagimian

HOVAGIMIAN, Sona Passed away on Thursday, March 9, just six days before her 87th birthday. She was born in Boston, the beloved daughter of Hagop and Mary (Arakelian) Hovagimian and sister of Edna, Arpi and the late Rose Salogiannis. She was the loving aunt of Maria Wind and the late Demetre Salogiannis.

A graduate of Boston Teachers College and Boston University, she was a career teacher working briefly in Quincy and in CT, before going overseas for a 24 year stint with Air Force Dependent School (DODS). This took her to England, France, Germany, Greece and Korea. Her field was Elementary Education, Talented and Gifted, and also English as a Second Language. Painting was her passion, and she would spend hours doing what she loved best. She retired and made her home in Florida and Arizoma before coming back to Massachusetts.

Sona’s family wishes all services to be private, and respectfully asks that prayers be said in her name to memorialize her life.
