Adams, William J. Jr. “Smoky” of Quincy, died August 14, 2015.
Smoky proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion – Morrisette Post, South Quincy Social Club, and a summer resident at the Pinewood Lodge Campground in Plymouth. He enjoyed camping, fishing, tinkering, cribbage, and morning gin games with friends. Most of all, he loved his family. He adored them, especially his grandchildren. Smoky will be remembered for his great sense of humor and always being a kind and generous man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Ann (Fleming) Adams and the late Marlene (Buzzell) Adams. Devoted father of Melissa Shaw and her husband Keith of Millbury and Josh Adams and his wife Kerry of Braintree. Loving brother of Carole Cirillo of Scituate, Jon Adams and his wife Stephanie of Weymouth, and the late Bruce Adams and his surviving wife Marilyn of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Jake and Matty Adams and Marley, William, and Clare Shaw. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Smoky may be made to a charity of your choice.
