Shirley A. Brown

Brown, Shirley A. of Quincy, formerly of Georgia, died March 13, 2014.

Family was everything to Shirley.  She poured her heart and soul into her family and cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren.  She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at several of the local nursing homes.  When diagnosed with cancer in 2011, she became part of a support group that helped her focus on the important things in life, the things she could control, and leave everything else up to Jesus.  Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious personality and was the rock of her family. 

Wife of James Thomas, Sr. of Quincy.  Loving mother of Lakrisher Brown of Quincy, Latoya Thomas of Milton, James Thomas, Jr. of Quincy, Ethan Thomas of Dorchester, and the late Antwon Brown.  Sister of Sherman Brown, James Brown, Lawrence Brown, Sr., Ephram Brown, Jr., Ellen Brown Lang, Delores Connor, and Rena Brown.  Nana to Mya Thomas, Brionne Durham, Kaliah Thomas, Isabella McCarthy, and Brooklyn McCarthy.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 41 Empire St., Quincy.  Burial in Pisgah Cemetery, Clyo, GA.
