Sheila Audrey McLaughlin of Hingham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23. She was 86.
Sheila was born in Newport, RI to the late John Gray and Gertrude (Murray). Sheila was a longtime resident of Hingham and also The Pinehills in Plymouth. While her family was young Sheila worked in the Hingham schools. She later went on to obtain her realtor’s license and worked in the Hingham area for a number of years.
In her spare time, Sheila enjoyed golfing, gardening and cooking. She will be remembered as an excellent host. Her home was always full of family and friends and that’s just the way she liked it.
Sheila was the beloved wife of the late Donald McLaughlin and sister of the late John Gray, Donald Gray, Janet Gray and Lorraine Martin. Devoted mother of Karen McGinn and her husband Richard of Hingham, Paul McLaughlin and his wife Emily of Milton, Susan Moore and her husband Thomas of Darien, CT, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Peggy of Weymouth, Linda Butcher and her husband Ben of Boston, and Gail Peck and her husband Richard of Dallas, TX. Loving Nana to 11 grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 30, from 9-10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
