Sheila A. Connelly

Connelly, Sheila A. (Cummings) of Hingham, died September 14, 2013, following a brief illness.

Sheila was born on October 31,1939 in Boston and was the loving daughter of the late John and Mary (McGill) Cummings. Devoted mother of Kristen Connelly of Weymouth, Kathleen (Connelly) Welch and her husband Vance of Hull, and Kerry (Connelly) Beaulieu and her husband John of Hingham. Cherished sister of Jack Cummings and his wife Ilona of Cambridge.  Loving “Nanny” of Jake and Michael Welch and Faith Beaulieu. Sheila is also survived by her longtime partner Dick Vaisey with whom she shared many years of happiness, fun and laughter.

Sheila lived her life to the fullest, visiting the islands to sail and traveling the world. She enjoyed scrabble with friends, spending time with her grandchildren, gourmet cooking, Keno and faux bowling with the girls. An experienced numerologist, she enjoyed her many trips to “The Woods” to test her theories of the probability of odds. She was a longtime employee of New England Merchants National Bank, a wonderful homemaker and mother and the former co-owner of the Proper Petal at the Hingham Granary Market Place. In her later years, Sheila enjoyed utilizing her talents in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Sheila was generous to a fault, a wonderful mother and friend who will be sorely missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, 147 North Street, Hingham, Saturday at 10 AM.
