Sharon P. Jarvie

Jarvie, Sharon (Provost) of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth, died March 31, 2017. 

Sharon’s life revolved around her loving husband Paul, of 44 years, and their three children.  She was a kind and gentle soul who improved the lives of all the people who were fortunate enough to know her.  She was a beloved teacher in Quincy for 20 years and possessed the sensitivity and patience to work with young children.   Despite the many challenges of her illness, Sharon remained positive and stoical in the face of unrelenting symptoms and was always finding ways to continue to cope and live life fully.  She and Paul took several weekend getaway trips each year to enjoy each other and make the most of the time they had together. Sharon had a passion for knitting, art, reading and music.  

Beloved wife of Paul Jarvie of Quincy.  Loving mother of Alexander Jarvie of Braintree, Carolyn Marshall and her husband Jack of Quincy, and Michael Jarvie of Quincy, and grandmother to Grace Marie Marshall.  Cherished sister of Carolyn Ahern and her husband David of RI, William Provost and his wife Janet of Scituate, Nancy Harris and her husband Dexter of Hingham, and the late Robert Baker.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Visiting Hours on Friday from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sharon may be made to Quincy Public Schools, Student Programs c/o Jim Mullaney, QPS Business Office, 34 Coddington St., Quincy MA 02169.
