Sean M. Coates (Aka Sean M. Murphy-Berardi)

Every now and then the hands of time just reach down and grab you, the unexpected happens.  Such was fate for a young musical prodigy, an artist, a philosopher and friend to all by age 19.

He didn’t just die young.  He died gifted with talent and a strong appreciation for others.  He’ll be remembered fondly by his family and friends.  Anyone who got to meet him was lucky.  Sean was a gift to know!

Always in study, both in school and beyond, Sean reached forward to so many people.  Helping others was a Sean attribute, as observed, appreciated and experienced by his friends.  To his friends, and especially to his mother and sister, to the world, he presented creative drawings and paintings.  His music was way ahead of the curve of talent.

A prescient mind with a keen  overt sense for original music during his mid-teens, Sean evolved into a songwriter first, a musical artist second — he was poised for musical genius.  Sean played nearly all instruments.  He performed with Climate Change, twice in a major club stage setting while performing with veteran musicians aged 40 to 70.  Sean was ahead of his time!

Born on July 5th, 1996 in Red Bank, New Jersey, he was raised as a child in Milford, Massachusetts and spent his teen-aged years in Hull, Massachusetts.  So many will think of him.  And with his mother and sister, they will find him in waves of oceans, with the birds in leaves of trees, when standing a mountaintop gazing into the valleys, streams and grainy bits of Climate Change.  Sean’s future lives in all things worldly and beyond.  He will be greatly missed.

Sean is the son of his devout mother, Yvonne V. Vieira; his step-father Stephen Vieira, his step-sister Taylor Vieira and his step-brother Bryan; his sister Ananda Venetia Coughlin and his niece and nephew, Molly and Dylan Coughlin.  Also close to him were Lawrence Pass-Harinam, Lindzie Frances, Heather Ryleigh Goldfarb and multiple friends, artists and musicians.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Hull High School Music Department and the money will be used for students with special needs.
