Sarah R. Hackworth

Sarah R. (Bailey / Downey) Hackworth, of Weymouth, died October 21st, 2017.

Sally is survived by her brother, Morgan Bailey, her sister, Martha Chamberlain, her son, Robert Downey, her grandson Sagan Downey, and many devoted friends and caregivers. Sally, the daughter of Nancy and Henry Bailey, grew up in Medfield, and later Milton, Massachusetts.

Many happy childhood summers were spent in Cotuit on Cape Cod. She attended Milton Academy, followed by Bennington College, where she excelled as an artist and poet. While she struggled most of her life with mental illness, she never let it extinguish her spirit. Remembered by many for her thoughtfulness and kindness, as well as her ability to make a lasting impression on all of those that met her.

A mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 234 Pleasant St, South Weymouth, MA 02190.
