Cobban, Sarah L. (DiCarlo) of Quincy, passed away April 28, 2011. Devoted wife to the late Frederick J. Cobban. Loving mother of Fred Cobban and his wife Jane of Quincy, Rick Cobban and his wife Helen of Abington, Sarale Perdios and her husband Dave of Milton, Kevin Cobban and his wife Lisa of Sandwich, and the late Sharon Fitzgerald. Grandmother of Shana, Ilana, Alyssa, Scott, Stacey, Marc, Kyle, Ryann and Avery. Sister of Marilyn Nestor of Quincy and Alfred DiCarlo of Milton. Sarah was pre-deceased by seven brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sarah was as a lifelong resident of Quincy. She was a graduate of the Whidden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Everett. She worked as a Cadet Nurse during World War II. Her nursing career included working as a registered nurse at both Milton and Quincy Hospital. After her nursing career, she began working at the Woodward School for Girls as a physical education teacher. Sarah was a longtime employee at the City of Quincy Recreation Department for over 30 years. She was an avid athlete, who enjoyed playing tennis up until she was 85 years old. Sarah was the founder of the Alley Cat bowling league. She was a member of the North Quincy High School Boosters Club, and an avid traveler who loved to spend her winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Sarah will be remembered as an outgoing, fun loving friend to all, who was very popular and considered to be a mother of all the kids who grew up in North Quincy. She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
