Sandra O’Brien

O’Brien, Sandra (Curran) of Weymouth, died September 21, 2014.

Beloved wife of James J. O’Brien of Weymouth.  Loving mother of Maureen Roy and her husband Jeffrey of Franklin, James O’Brien of Weymouth, Kathleen Gallo and her husband James of Winghrop and William O’Brien and his longtime companion Cathy Marsters of Weymouth.  Sister of Barbara Pace and her husband Joseph of Abington, Marion Howland and her husband John of Plymouth and Lorraine Burm and her husband Gerard of Braintree.  Cherished Nana of Andrew O’Brien, Alicia Roy, Natalie Roy, Jeffrey Roy, Amanda Gallo, Matthew Gallo, Anthony Gallo, Renee O’Brien, Denise OBrien, James O’Brien and Christopher O’Brien.  Sandra was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sandra was raised in South Boston and was a graduate of Gate of Heaven School.  She lived in Dorchester for many years before settling in Weymouth.   She worked for several banks specializing in International Trade, most recently at State Street Bank in Boston. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling and getting together with her friends every week at Gerard’s in Dorchester.  Sandra was a member of the South Boston Gatesmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Most of all Sandra was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, her family was the cornerstone of her life.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45am Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
