Samuel L. Mcclymonds, Jr.

Samuel L. McClymonds, Jr. of Rockland, died January 1, 2016.

Sam proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired as a lieutenant after 22 years of service, including the Vietnam War. He worked as an engineer in power plant operations for both Stone & Webster and Calpine companies where he thrived professionally and served as a mentor to many. Sam enjoyed designing and building model trains. He will be remembered as a kind and intelligent man who was loved by everyone who had the benefit of knowing him.  

Beloved husband of Elaine (Caron) McClymonds of Rockland. Devoted father of Kirk McClymonds and his companion Kim Holmes of Brockton and Kristin Proffit and her husband Michael of Rochester. Cherished “Grampa Sam” to Sydney, Taylor, Michaella and Aaron. Devoted son of the late Marguerite McClymonds of PA. Loving brother of Cynthia McClymonds of PA, Cathy DeAngelis of PA and the late Robert and John McClymonds. Also survived by several sisters and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  

Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM.

Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
