Samuel C. Gates

Gates, Samuel C. “Sam” of Hingham, died in a tragic accident August 10, 2017.

Sam lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with his family and friends. He attended UMass Boston as a criminal justice major and was going into his sophomore year. Sam was a friendly, free spirited man who loved life and lived every moment. He was funny, caring, and will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he touched.

Beloved son of Charles L. Gates III and Lisa Gates of Hingham. Cherished brother of Max Gates of Hingham. Loving grandson of Charlie and Maureen Gates of Lakeville and Fran Maccarrone of Longboat Key, FL. Devoted boyfriend of Sara Murray of Saugus. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the South Shore Country Club, 274 South St., Hingham, MA 02043. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sam may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children – Boston, Development Office, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
