Salvatore L. Abruzzese

Abruzzese, Salvatore L. of Weymouth, formerly of Neponset, passed away at home January 12, 2013 at the age of 83.

Sal worked as a custodian for Boston Public Schools. He served in the United States Marine Corp in the early 1950’s. He was a former Vice Commander of the American Legion, Walsh Post in Dorchester and was honored as the Weymouth Son’s of Italy Man of the Year in 1981.

Husband of Audrey (Firlotte) Abruzzese. Father of Paul Abruzzese of Weymouth,  Thomas Abruzzese of Weymouth, Robert Abruzzese of Marshfield,  and the late Sal Abruzzese, Jr. Grandfather of Danielle, Heather and Anthony. Great grandfather of Iri and Amyah. Brother of Tony, Guy, Pete, Larry, Anna Maloney and the late Michael Abruzzese. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 9 AM.
